CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system. This includes the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch no greater than the weight of a nickel, restrictions in the craniosacral system are released to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. Physical or emotional traumas the body has been holding on to may be released. CST sessions are done fully clothed.

The following techniques may be either included or suggested by Sarah, as needed, at no additional cost to your treatment:
Lymphatic Drainage Technique
Lymph Drainage Techniqe (LDT) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. This is recommended for pre and post surgical healing, swelling, allergies, and promoting overall health. I am unable to perform this treatment if you are in your 1st trimester of pregnancy, have had lymph nodes removed or biopsied, or have lymphedema, active cancer, or serious circulatory or respiratory issues.
This is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique often referred to as “scraping”. Lotion is applied to the skin and then special Gua Sha tools are used to scrape the skin on areas of the body that have stagnant blood. It is traditionally used for upper respiratory ailments but I use it for pain management and scar tissue work. Areas of the body that are especially stagnant will produce a rash, or small red bruises called “petechiae” that will remain for several days.
